So much work to write one book

“When a man writes from his own mind, he writes very rapidly. The greatest part of a writer’s time is spent in reading, in order to write; a man will turn over half a library to make one book.”

~Samuel Johnson

Then there’s the investment of life itself where stories happen and need to be recorded, too.

  1. I love this!! I actually just quote about how, in order to output, we need to input. I found this dynamic trying to cure writer’s block. Beautiful quote there. I’ve never seen it before. Thank you for sharing ❤

  2. Thank you, Vironika. A portion of the quote originally showed up after I published a blog entry. I googled to find out more and put the entire quote in, along with a piece of my own mind.

I see you are an editor. Freelance? Or do you work in-house?
